2/20 update

February 21, 2019 By AuSable Valley Snowmobile Association

Greetings Sledders,

What a weekend. Two tractors vs hundreds of sleds. I’d bet on the sleds winning out every time and that certainly was the case last weekend. It took us until Monday but we got all the trails back into very good condition and it looks like they will stay that way thru Friday. After that another ride on the weather roller coaster could be headed our way. At this point it’s anybody’s guess as to how it will shake out.

We took the day off from grooming today to slather a little grease here and there on the tractors and we will focus on some much needed re-arrangement of snow on the corridor at the golf course that is part of the trail thru town tomorrow and we will be back at grooming on Friday. We will be back at our usual weekend schedule unless the weather says otherwise.

LOVELLS TRAIL CLOSURE: The military will be closing the gates on the Lovells trail the first two weekends of March. This closure is due to training activity on what is known as the Range 30 MPRC and the gates block off a safety zone that is meant to keep everyone out of harms way. I will post this alert several times between now and the scheduled weekends.

Next report when we have a better idea what to expect for weather for the weekend.

Ride Often and Please Be Safe,

    Keith, Sandy and The Girls
